Roland is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

manufacturing and processing, professional services, not for
profits, investment, private and public companies.

Carol Chester, CA, MBA

Carol is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

PARTNER
Carol began at Kenway Mack Slusarchuk Stewart LLP as an
articling student in 1986 after earning her MBA from the University
of Alberta. Carol received her CA designation in
1988. Carol joined the partnership in
1992.
Carol is a general practitioner in the firm and likes to work
closely with her clients to provide superior service in their
financial and income tax matters. Carol’s
client base is very diverse and she has experience in a wide
variety of businesses.
Carol enjoys being able to bridge the communications gap between
the complex language of income tax and financial matters and the
practical 'get it done' language of the entrepreneur and owner
managed business person.

Bryce Eidsness, CA, TEP

Bryce is a Managing Partner in the Tax service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

PARTNER
Bryce earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of
Calgary and received his CA designation in 1986. Bryce
joined Kenway Mack Slusarchuk Stewart LLP in 1991 and was admitted
into partnership in 1994.
Bryce became managing partner for the firm in early 2000,
"bringing with him a fresh perspective on leadership."
Bryce’s main focus is taxation. He concentrates
on the areas of corporate reorganizations, succession
and estate planning.
When looking to the future, Bryce believes that clients are
looking for their advisors to provide quality business solutions to
various complex issues. An increasing demand by clients
for specialized services keeps Bryce seeking innovative solutions
to many business challenges.

PARTNER
Gary graduated from the University of Calgary in 1973 and
received his CA designation in 1975. Gary joined Kenway Mack
Slusarchuk Stewart LLP as a partner in 1990.
Gary has a variety of focuses in the firm but is personally
interested in working with owner/manager entrepreneurs and their
businesses. He is also very involved with many of our
clients in various medical professions, helping them in a variety
of financial and accounting matters.
Gary believes that “due to the fact that business in
general is becoming increasingly more complex, small firms will
have to find a niche in order to compete in the market place and
they will have to offer an increasing range of services to their
clients".

Bruce Kenway, CA

Bruce is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

Bruce is one of the four founding members of Kenway Mack
Slusarchuk Stewart LLP. Bruce obtained his CA designation in
1973.
Bruce believes that “establishing long-term trusted
relationships with clients is a fundamental step in delivering
superior service." Over the past ten years, most of
Bruce’s professional time has been spent providing
advisory services to high net-worth individuals and their
businesses.
Bruce sits on the Board of Directors and is Chairman of the
Audit Committee of a company listed on the Toronto and Nasdaq Stock
Exchanges. He has previously been a Board Member of several other
companies listed on the Canadian Venture Exchange. He
is also one of a group of founders of three Junior Capital Pool
companies. Bruce currently sits on the Board of Directors of the
Institute of Modern and Contemporary Art, a community charitable
organization.

Laura joined KMSS after graduating from the University of
Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1994. She
received her CA designation in 1997, and was promoted to manager in
1999. Laura was admitted to the partnership on January
1, 2008.
Offering a variety of accounting and tax services, Laura enjoys
the challenge of meeting each client's individual needs.
Laura has a diverse client group of owner managed
businesses.
As the accounting and tax areas grow in complexity, she sees her
role as the trusted advisor evolving.

PARTNER
Ray is one of the four founding members of Kenway Mack
Slusarchuk Stewart LLP. Ray earned his Bachelor of Commerce from
the University of British Columbia in 1973 ,his CA designation in
1975 and FCA in 2000.
Ray believes that “today’s clients need
more than just an accountant. They need their
accountant to be a trusted advisor relating to diverse areas of
business, one that can provide them with a number of services far
beyond the realm of a traditional accountant." Ray’s
primary focus in the firm is in general practice and he enjoys
financial consulting for his small business clients.
Ray realizes the impact that technology plays in
today’s industry, and has been proactive in his search
for knowledge regarding the role it plays in society as a whole as
well as its direct impact on the firm.
Ray served as President of the Institue of Chartered Accountants
of Alberta (ICAA) 2000 - 2001, and was managing partner
of KMSS from 1986 to 1999. He is the President of DFK
International and served as President of DFK Canada 1995 - 1998.
Ray was a member on the Board of Evaluators of
the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants
(CICA) from 2002 - 2005, is currently the
chair of the ICAA Nominating Committee, and a member of
the Accounting Advisory Committee at Mount Royal
College. Ray is the chair of the Board of
Eagle Rock Exploration Ltd., a publicly traded junior
oil and gas company.

Kevin Napady, CA
|
Kevin is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

PARTNER
Kevin graduated from The University of Saskatchewan in 1995. He
joined the firm in September 1995, as a CA student, and proceeded
to obtain his CA designation in January of 1999. He was
promoted to Manager in the fall of 2000. The firm
seconded Kevin to the Alberta Securities Commision in the spring of
2003, for approximately six months, where he assisted the Chief
Accountant with reviews of continuous disclosure documents of
public reporting companies. He joined the partnership
in January 2008.
Kevin continues to foucs on audit and assurance services for
both public and private entities. He dedicates a
significant portion of his time to providing these services to
exploration and production companies within the oil and gas
industry.
Kevin is an active member within his church, where he is a
member of the finance team.

Kirby Rogers, CA

Kirby is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

Kirby graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint
Mary’s University in Nova Scotia in 1994. After three
years with a Chartered Accounting firm in Halifax, Kirby joined
KMSS in 1997, obtaining his CA designation that same year. Kirby
was promoted to Manager in 1999 in the accounting and assurance
service line and was then admitted to the partnership in January
2006. He provides a variety of accounting, income tax
and business advisory services to a wide range of owner/manager
entrepreneurs and their businesses.

Barry Slusarchuk, CA

Barry is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

Barry is one of the four founding members of Kenway Mack
Slusarchuk Stewart LLP. A graduate of the University of
Saskatchewan’s Commerce program, Barry graduated with
Distinction and obtained his CA designation in 1975.
Barry has a strong focus on business advisory services and
consulting. He assists clients with business start-ups, post
start-ups, financing and growth situations.
Barry enjoys being able to build long-term service relationships
with his clients, providing them with superior service and going
that “extra mile."
Barry is also an active member in his church, where he continues
to serve by heading up the finance committee.

David Somerville, CA
|
David is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Banff Office.

PARTNER
Dave is a graduate of McMaster University in Hamilton, and holds
a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He received his CA designation in
1989, finishing on the national honor roll. Dave moved to Calgary
in 1996, and joined the Firm as a Senior Manager. He
was admitted to partnership in 2000, and is a general practice
partner in the Banff office.
Dave feels fortunate to live and work in Banff, and through the
teamwork of our two offices, to be able to offer the highest
caliber professional services to our clients, with a local,
personal touch. “I know that our clients
really appreciate our Firm and people, and the quality of the work
that we do. In our profession, that is what makes it
all worthwhile at the end of the day”.
Dave has also served as volunteer Treasurer with the Bow Valley
SPCA since 2002.

Cal Stewart, CA, TEP

Cal is a Tax Partner in the Tax service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

TAX PARTNER
Cal is one of the four founding members of Kenway Mack
Slusarchuk Stewart LLP and is one of the firm’s
taxation specialists. Cal obtained his degree from the
University of Saskatchewan in 1974 and joined Kenway Mack
Slusarchuk Stewart LLP on May 1, 1979.
Cal is an active member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the
Estate Planning Council of Calgary, the Society of Trust and Estate
Practitioners (STEP), and the Petroleum Tax Society; each of which
adds greatly to his ever increasing knowledge of taxation
issues. In addition, Cal has been the editor of the
ICAA Tax Tips tax column since 1997.
“The accounting industry", according to Cal,
“requires even more specialization than ever,
particularly in the non-compliance areas such as Information
Technology, Management Consulting, Wealth Preservation and Wealth
Management and Valuations".

Scott A. Timson, CA, M.Acc.

Scott is a Partner in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

Scott graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1993 with a
Master’s of Accounting degree and attained his CA
designation in 1994. After working 5 years with a
National accounting firm in Hamilton and one year with a large
public company, Scott joined the firm in 1998 as a Tax Manager and
was admitted to the partnership in January 2003.
Scott's primary focus is in the area of assurance and auditing
services for medium to larger sized organizations. Scott firmly
believes that the "key aspect of our business is to provide timely,
accurate and valuable services to our clients" and that this is
what assists our clients in managing a successful business.

John is a Tax Partner in the Tax service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

John graduated from the University of Regina in 1986 and
obtained his CA designation in 1988. John joined Kenway Mack
Slusarchuk Stewart LLP in 2005 and was admitted to partnership in
2007. John has provided taxation services, primarily to owner
managed enterprises, since 1989.
John believes the requirements of our clients as it relates to
taxation, accounting and business related services has expanded
over the years. "Businesses are likely to operate in a number of
jurisdictions resulting in more complex taxation issues, and
changes in legislation require more involved tax planning". Kenway
Mack Slusarchuk Stewart LLP has the team and the resources to meet
our clients' needs.

Jolene Cashin, CA

Jolene is a Manager in the Accounting Assurance and Audit service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

Jolene graduated from the University of Calgary with her
Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2002. She began at

obtained her CA designation in 2007.

Florian Green,

Florian is a Manager of Technology in the Internal Firm Services service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

MANAGER OF TECHNOLOGY
Florian has been involved in Information Technology in the
Calgary area for in excess of 25 years. His experience spans
various industries as it relates to IT Strategic Planning as well
as Implementation. Florian's role within KMSS will be to guide and
to continue the firm's evolving technology processes. Florian
joined our firm in 2007.

Sharon graduated from The University of Saskatchewan in 1991 and
obtain her CA designation in 1993. Sharon joined KMSS in September
of 1991. Her work within the firm’s tax group includes
all aspects of corporate and personal income tax.

Janet has worked in public accounting since 1986. She is a
graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and obtained her CA
designation in 1989. Janet joined the Calgary office in
January 2000, following a family move from Brampton, Ontario.
Janet has experience with clients in a variety of industries,
and finds assisting owner-managed businesses with their accounting,
taxation and finance challenges very rewarding.

Brigitte Matshes graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in
2001 from the University of Manitoba and obtained her CA
designation in 2004. Brigitte joined the firm in August of
2006.
Brigitte' s role in the Firm involves managing client
engagements and providing client advisory services in the
accounting and auditing area.

Gabor is a Principal in the Tax service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

Gabor obtained his CA designation in 1967 in Calgary, and joined
the firm originally in 1981 for 10 years, and again in
1997. He focuses on income tax, business valuation,
estate planning and related services.

Mark Servello, CGA
|
Mark is a Tax Manager in the Tax service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

TAX MANAGER
After working three years with a Chartered Accounting firm in
the Vancouver area, Mark joined the Firm in
1997 and received his CGA designation in 1998. Mark works within
the Firm's tax group. He completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in
2002 and the CICA In-Residence GST Course in 2003.

Glen Simpson,

Glen is a Firm Administrator in the Internal Firm Services service line, working out of the Calgary Office.

FIRM ADMINISTRATOR
Glen has a wide range of experience in operations,
administration and financial services, gained in industry and
banking throughout Western Canada and in New York. With his past
roles as Chief Information, Operating and Financial Officers of
diverse private and public companies, Glen brings a unique blend of
operational experience from the corporate sector.
He has been a consultant to the firm since 2001, joining as a
regular full-time employee in December 2005. Glen’s
role is the senior administrative position in the firm, with
responsibility for coordination of all Administrative and Financial
Business Functions.
